40 years ago this used to be one of the premier seafood restaurants in Lafayette. I had a negative experience 7 years ago but thought I'd give it another chance. Well, 2 strikes and you're out. I ordered Chicken Riverside-a grilled breast topped with lump crabmeat and mushrooms. The chicken was overcooked, dry and had no seasoning at all. There 3 tiny pieces of crabmeat on top. The side veggies were clearly frozen, overcooked and mushy and my baked potato was cold. I expected more for almost $17. My sister had the Shrimp en Brochette which is shrimp wrapped in bacon and grilled. She said the shrimp were so overcooked that they were totally dry and tasteless. Her meal was almost $20. We were there during lunch and there were only 4 other tables so it's not like the kitchen was overloaded all at once. It's a good thing I had a certificate because I certainly wouldn't have paid full price for this dining experience. Server was excellent though as was the cup of spinach/tasso soup, the side salad and bread.
Parking area need improvement, dining area need extension.
Classic cajun and traditional dishes.. always good. Highly recommend the crab imperial and also anything with their seafood stuffing, and the crab boulettes. You simply can't get this kind of goodness at a chain restaurant, you have to eat local to get truly good cajun seafood dishes.
It was excellent as usual. Always enjoy the crab dinner!
It was excellent as usual. Always enjoy the crab dinner!
Was a fan of this restaurant for 30 years & then the original owner retired & passed it on to the children who have changed it. The special i usallyget on a Monday is stuffed catfish & the dish i had yesterday has been cut down considerably, small layer of catfish on top of some filling. Not up too par, but on the other hand, the pea soup is always good, baked potato outstanding & salad was generous.Another feature is the free relish tray is still on after 40 years which dates back to my first visit. Only problem is main part of dish not up to par, low amount & higher price. I will give them one more chance Sandy was outstanding server
my salad & stuffed potato was very good. I had the bonne something(grilled fish w shrimp effouffe on top). my fish was flat tasting & tasted watery-that was the only negative thing.
Lunch service was slow. Took a while for our food to come out of the kitchen. Food was excellent as it always is though.
The place is beautiful, the ambiance is relaxing and the service And good were phenomenal!!

Great lunch for a good value
The complimentary soup was great and they had the best grilled catfish poor boy.
Great food variety and super service
quick service & great meal
I frequently visit this location and the location in Lafayette and the food plus service is excellent.
I had a dining card and made the mistake of calling the number the restaurant was to call. Kim was extremely helpful. I have three other certificates to use. I will be dining again very soon. It was delicious.
The food was great and the service was as great as the food
steak cooked perfectly
Ms. Mary was a wonderful server and helped make the evening really special.
Food and atmosphere was great
Food was great and our server was great also
Food was quick and good. Just alittle spicy for us.
The prices for lunch were way to high.
They up charged me $1.25 to wrap my daughters hamburger steak with bavon, and then wanted to charge me an additionAL $1 for subbing the green beans and fries for. Sweet potato. I then ordered mybdish, chicken breast was extremely dry...was stopped with much rooms and crab and mushrooms barely cooked. Replaced with seafood salad. Half way thru had stomach pains so bad I couldn't finish. Pains got so bad in my stomach that I couldn't walk. 2 other ppl had major stomach issues when leaving.
Great service. Excellent food.

The wait staff was fabulous and the meal always delicious.
slow service, all but one entrée were hot, mine was tempid
The food was delicious and the service outstanding
The food was outstanding, but service was just ok. They switched our waitress assignment after we were seated, and it seemed like we were outside of the new waitress's section so we didn't see much of her - slow to take our order, empty glasses, etc. She was nice and friendly, though.
my all time favorite restaurant
Quick service and delicious food
Consistently delicious.
Love the food this really is the best in seafood & downhome cooking. Best Service I always ask for DeeDee.
Food and service were excellent. Very big crowd, and parking lot is woefully inadequate.
The food was very good. The portions are smaller than they used to be, but we were satisfied.
The location is difficult to find if you don't have good directions, but the find is worth it! The food was the best Cajun seafood we've ever enjoyed. The shrimp was cooked perfectly - the gumbo was the best and the salads were fresh.
Waiter has great and good was delicious as usual!
The service was great. The food came out fast and hot and had that great cajun taste that I expect from Riverside.
The service was slow and we were seated for about 10 minutes before we saw a server.
Staff was efficient and very helpful. Food was very good and selection wonderful. We always enjoy out time out at Riverside.
We ordered oysters on the shell and were very disappointed. They were old, shiveled, and smelled bad. I would have thought whoever opened them would have noticed.
I waited for a while for someone to wait on me, since they were waiting on everyone before and after me. After ordering, the waitress told me, "I could wait on the porch" someone would bring my food.
great food!
Customer service was very helpful. It was very easy to contact them & have someone to talk to immediately to answer any questions.
the food is overpriced compared to its compeitors.
Deedee our server was delightful. She anticipated what we needed before we asked and was ready to chat about the area.
Our server was very nice and helpful. The wait for a table is always nice in the bar and usually quite short.
Food quality was terrible. Over used cooking oil. All fried foods had a burnt taste. My family has been patrons for 25 + years and have always enjoyed the experience until today. Wait staff was Good. Food was Disappointing.
Not cheap & very busy at lunch, but delicious food! Some of the best seafood gumbo I've ever had!
